18 Year old Dylan Lajoie has been awarded the
6th Annual Busch Sport Scene Scholarship Award. The $1000
scholarship is awarded each year to a student who has had
a connection to the New England based sports publication.
Dylan is from Mechanic Falls, Maine and is a graduate of
Poland Regional High School. He is currently attending
college at the University of Southern Maine in Gorham,
Maine
"Thank you very much," Dylan said when notified
of the award. "It means a lot to me."
The scholarship was awarded at the 11th annual Busch
Sport Scene Snowmobile Ride for Charity on February 6th
in Rangeley, Maine. Dylan was unable to be at the event,
as he is on the indoor track team at his school, and they
had a meet that day.
Busch Sport Scene publisher George Campbell presented the
award.
"I know what a great young man Dylan is and I am
very proud that we can help contribute to his
education," Campbell said. "I know how
challenging advancing your education can be, and my hope
is that this scholarship each year will help provide some
funding and motivation to these young students who have
such a bright future."
Previous winners of the annual $1000 Busch Sport Scene
Scholarship Award were Mike Penfold, Dave Fish and Jordan
Place. Jordan, who was the winner of last years
scholarship, recently started an internship with the
Maine Red Claws basketball team. He is currently studying
sports marketing at the University of New England.
